Christer Henriksen, Store Manager at Ahlsell Drammen Norway, explains that the display quickly caught the attention of customers.

“It’s very visible in the store, so people naturally notice it. The guys often stop by, and we quickly get into a good conversation across the counter about what’s on display”

And being able to physically demonstrate the products is highly valuable.

For products designed to be used in demanding environments, simply explaining their features is not always enough. Customers want to see the quality, the light output, the construction and the possibilities for use in real-life situations.

“It’s much easier to sell something when the customer can actually pick it up, feel it and see how good the light is. It’s completely different from just browsing through a catalogue,” says Christer.

For Herman Lundberg, who works in sales at Ahlsell, the display has also become a useful tool when meeting customers.

“It’s a great icebreaker when I bring customers in. It’s tidy and clearly shows what we actually have, so it’s very easy to start a conversation about what they need on the construction site”

“We just need to find a smart way of rotating the products, perhaps changing the selection depending on the season and what’s happening in the market,” explains Christer when discussing how a larger range could be managed in-store.

At the same time, both see clear developments in the market.

Lower energy consumption and longer service life

Energy efficiency is becoming increasingly important. Contractors and tradespeople want solutions that consume less electricity while still being able to withstand demanding working conditions.

“There’s really only one direction things are going, and that’s towards lower energy consumption and longer service life. Contractors are becoming increasingly focused on this, so the products that use less energy and can withstand tough conditions are the ones that will succeed.”

This is also a development Promitto strongly recognises.

It creates curiosity. It starts conversations. And it makes it easier to find the right solution together with the customer.
