1000 Metres of LED Strip Lights in action at Cyclodome Salzburg
LED lighting is commonly used in construction, infrastructure, tunnels and industrial environments. But the need for flexible, robust and efficient lighting does not stop there. During this year’s Cyclodome Salzburg, Promitto supplied a total of 1000 metres of SafeLight ECO LED strip lights for a spectacular cycling event in the heart of Salzburg.
As cyclists raced through the historic city centre, our LED strip lights formed part of the lighting solution along the course.
From construction sites to cycling events
Promitto LED strip lights are designed for demanding environments. They are easy to install, easy to connect and provide efficient lighting across long distances.
These qualities also make LED strip lighting a practical solution for temporary installations and events where lighting needs can change quickly.
Cyclodome Salzburg is a great example.
The 2026 event took place on 10 and 11 September in the historic centre of Salzburg. The programme included an international MTB Eliminator Night Race and an international road cycling criterium. The races took place around Salzburg Cathedral, with the Residenzplatz serving as the start and finish area.
For the event, Promitto supplied 1000 metres of LED strip lights.
Lighting that follows the event
A cycling event has different requirements from a construction site. At the same time, many of the basic lighting needs are similar.
The lighting needs to be:
- flexible and easy to install
- robust enough for temporary use
- efficient and clearly visible
- easy to connect over long distances
- suitable for an installation that needs to be set up and removed
These are exactly the qualities that make LED strip lighting interesting for events and sports applications.
The images from Cyclodome show the LED strip lights in action along the course, together with the cyclists and the unique atmosphere of the event.
1000 metres of LED lighting
When long areas need to be illuminated, it is a major advantage to work with long lengths and a system that is easy to handle.
With 1000 metres of LED strip lighting supplied for the event, Promitto provided a flexible lighting solution that could follow the course and its requirements.
👉It also demonstrates an important advantage of LED strip lighting: It can be used for much more than traditional construction and site lighting.
From construction sites and tunnels to exhibitions, events and sports venues, there are many situations where practical and flexible lighting is needed.
Flexible lighting for temporary installations
Temporary installations often require solutions that are quick to install, easy to adapt and just as easy to remove.
This applies far beyond construction projects.
Events may need lighting along a course, around spectator areas, inside temporary structures or in locations where permanent lighting is not an option.
LED strip lights can be an efficient solution for these applications.
Promitto develops professional LED lighting solutions for demanding environments and different types of installations.
One solution, many possibilities
Our delivery to Cyclodome Salzburg demonstrates how LED lighting can be used in new and creative ways.
We are proud to see Promitto LED strip lights in action at an event that combines international cycling, spectators, music and a unique historic setting.
For us, this project is also a great example of why flexibility matters when developing lighting solutions.
LED lighting does not have to be limited to construction sites. It can be part of an event, sports venue or temporary installation – wherever reliable and flexible lighting is needed.
