The lighting system was to be installed in a tunnel and serve both as permanent lighting and emergency lighting. The solution therefore needed to combine long-term stable performance with optimal energy consumption and a high level of safety.

Energy-Efficient Tunnel Lighting with Integrated Emergency Function

The lighting system was designed for tunnel installation, serving both as standard operational lighting and emergency lighting.

Solution

The solution was a 50-meter version of M-Flex, optimized specifically for the project’s requirements.

By adjusting and reducing the light output, we achieved:

  • Reduced energy consumption
  • Lower operating costs
  • Maintained required lux levels
  • Uniform and safe light distribution throughout the tunnel

For emergency lighting, one emergency module is installed per 150 meters. This provides an efficient and cost-optimized backup solution with fewer components and reduced system complexity.

The result is a complete, integrated system for energy-efficient tunnel lighting with built-in emergency functionality—combining normal and emergency lighting without the need for separate installations.
