Promitto Group – Partner in tunnel lighting
In collaboration with Bravida Sverige, Promitto Group AS has been awarded the contract to supply 55,000 meters of LED lighting for the project. The delivery includes both LED strips and floodlights, specially developed to meet the strict requirements of the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket).
Bravida Sverige is responsible for the installation of all electrical systems, including planning, design, installation, testing, and maintenance. As a subcontractor, Promitto provides a turnkey lighting solution that is energy-efficient, reliable, and easy to install.
Tailor-Made solution for service tunnels and escape routes
The tunnel system is divided into 33 operational areas, each with different lighting requirements. In total, Promitto’s solutions will be installed across approximately 55,000 meters of service tunnels, utility culverts, and escape routes.
The technical solution consists of LED strips connected in 3×50 meter segments. This makes installation significantly easier, reduces the number of connection points, and improves reliability. Power cabinets are placed about every 150 meters, with each unit supplied from a common power feed.
In addition, HighLite floodlights are installed for extra illumination in cabinet areas. This combination provides both optimal working light and safe passage in emergency situations.
FACTS – One of Europe’s Largest Infrastructure Projects
E4 Förbifart Stockholm, also known as Bypass Stockholm, is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe. The Swedish Transport Administration is building a completely new 21-kilometer road stretch west of Stockholm, connecting the city’s northern and southern parts.
To preserve the environment and cultural heritage, 18 of the 21 kilometers will run through tunnels. This makes E4 Förbifart Stockholm one of the world’s longest motorway tunnels.
When completed in 2030, the project will help reduce traffic congestion in central Stockholm, improve road safety, and make transport more efficient for both private individuals and businesses. The total cost is estimated at SEK 41.7 billion (2021 price level), according to the National Transport Infrastructure Plan 2022–2033.
